HOW YOU CAN HELP

Donations are used to support such organisations as the UK Microfinance Club in its work of promoting MF in the UK and acting as a catalyst for action. Other promotion work of FTF includes raising awareness about MF in schools and helping to develop educational courses on MF.  Donations are also used to provide working capital loans to new MFIs and loan guarantees. 

Loans are used to  invest directly in Oikocredit shares  which presently receive a 2% pa dividend. Although it is possible for an individual to buy shares directly, under Financial Services Act,  we are not permitted to advertise shares and we are in no way promoting the sale of  shares here.

All the funds loaned  to FTF are used to buy  the shares of  intermediary companies which are then loaned to microfinance institutions (MFIs) around the world.  

So your money goes on working far into the future.

LENDING 

We believe the default risk of lending funds to Oikocredit and Dexia is low. Oikocredit has never failed to pay back an investor in its 30 year history and it has a strong balance sheet but, of course, there is always a small risk of default. Therefore a large, immediate impact can be made through lending. We have several ways that you can help.

1. You can lend money to FTF interest free.

2. We can pay you 2% pa  interest on any loan amount.  We have donors who choose to  borrow in Swiss Francs and allow us to buy the Euro denominated Oikocredit shares. The interest we pay is likely to cover most of the cost of your loan. If you would like to know more, please call us to discuss.

GIVING

There are various ways you can give:

1. You can make a regular donation by filling out the standing order form and sending it to your bank.

2. You can send a cheque made out to 'Fund their Future' at The Coach House, 38 Cotham Hill, Bristol BS6 6LA. U.K. But please remember to print off the Gift Aid declaration and send it to us with the cheque as it will enable to claim back an additional 28 pence for every pound you donate.
